Kamden Lee Keller

Born 11-8-2006 at 9:28 AM.

Weighing in at 5 lbs. 8 oz. and 17.5" long.

Kamden and mom are both doing well.  Kamden is currently in NICU as he is having trouble getting enough oxygen when breathing.  At this point the doctors don't believe this to be a major issue, however, he will be under very close observation for the next 48 to 72 hours.  I will post updates and more pictures as time allows.  Thanks for all of your support!

UPDATE! 11-9-06  Kamden has been removed from the support of oxygen and is doing well breathing on his own.  At this point in time he remains in NICU under close observation.  Many of you have asked what the sore on his knee is from in one of the pictures below.  As many of you know Kamden is a twin and his sibling passed away at the beginning of the second trimester.  This was not a miscarriage but what is referred to as a fetal demise.  The only explanation the doctors have for this spot is that he may have been positioned in such a way that his knee was against the remains of his demised sibling leaving a sore spot on his leg.  His joints appear to be fine and they are simply treating this with antibiotic cream and expect it to heal on its own.  I will put some more pictures up in the next day or two!

UPDATE! 11-10-06  Today they unhooked Kamden's IV pump and allowed him out of the NICU for the first time.  They will do some more blood tests in the morning.  If the tests look good (they have been fine the last two days) and he continues to eat well then he could be ready to head home as soon as tomorrow.  We are hoping that is true and we get to go home!

UPDATE! 11-19-06  Kamden went home on Saturday the 11th.  Both Kamden and Amy are doing great, not so much on the sleep, but great otherwise.  Thanks again for all the messages and gifts.  I will post more pictures as time allows.  Have a great day!
